Nature in Gran Canaria
Gran Canaria is a great nature destination where you can hike 365 days per year.
With 47% of its surface protected by law, the Island offers really varied and beautiful landscapes, from the green north, to the arid south, from the spectacular calderas on the centre to the very special area of Bandama. An Island with so much contrast has been called the Island continent.
Once you head for the mountains you realise the Island is very special place, where deep ravines meet high mountains, where the vegetation becomes varied and rare, with a lot of archeological spots located on the routes, with beautiful little villages where time seems has stooped long time ago.
Our commitment with the Island
WalkinGranCanaria.com promotes the racional development of the rural areas of Gran Canaria in order to preserve it for the future of its inhabitants and also the enjoyment of visitors.
We will plant a tree for each person enjoying a holiday package with us, on this way we collaborate with the Island reforestation plans and quality of living.
